The research fair is the place to hear about and engage with CITE’s many research projects, connect with your CUNY colleagues, and share knowledge and resources to advance each other’s research and practice! Here, you’ll have the chance to…
- Foster connections for potential future collaborations
- Interact with researchers in both the early and final phases of their research projects
- Learn about their methodologies and findings on integrating computing
The event will utilize a virtual poster session format, where presenters will share their posters in simultaneous Zoom breakout rooms. Presentations will happen in 20-25 minute cycles, allowing presenters to visit other posters during other time slots.
When: Wednesday, August 6th, 10:00am-12:00pm (RSVP Here)
How to Become a Presenter
Interested in presenting a poster at CITE’s Research Fair? Submit your name and project information via this form by July 18th!
What is Expected of Presenters
Share an aspect of your CITE research or practice via a virtual poster. The idea is not to prepare a structured formal presentation, so much as to prepare some visuals you can refer to as you have a “show and tell” style conversation about your work with people who drop into your breakout room (think about the kinds of interactions you’d have at a face-to-face poster session)! Some things you can share include…
- Research findings – preliminary or more developed
- A CITE Artifact design – A computing-integrated teaching activity or assignment
- An aspect of your research process – e.g. an instrument you developed, an approach or method
- A problem of practice you have been investigating or that has surfaced in your work
- Other — we are open to your unique ideas
How to Prepare
- You can use any software (PowerPoint, Google Slides, Canva, Prezi, etc) to make your poster. Plan to screenshare it and send us a link or file by July 30th.
- Prepare some discussion and reflection questions for the audience members
- Participants will cycle into your room during a 20-minute rotation
Be sure to also RSVP to the event!
